Where2Golf says:

Few of America's wonderful array of TPC courses are home to such drama and feverish excitement as is played out on TPC Scottsdale's Stadium course. When the PGA Tour's Phoenix Open comes to town, so do record numbers of golf fans. The legendary par-3 16th, for one week a year, is surrounded by up to 30,000 frenzied fans, who create one of professional golf's unique spectacles. When you play here, things are likely to be distinctly quieter. But the 16th, and many other holes, will still have the nerves tingling as you put ball on tee. Originally a flat piece of arid, dusty terrain, Weiskopf and Morrish transformed this corner of the Sonoran desert into a wonderfully sculpted and always well manicured golf course. Plenty of desert areas still separate the pristine fairways, while huge earthmounds also define the holes. There's plenty to think about on your way round, with desert scrub and ball-grabbing rough bordering the not overly wide fairways, and a posse of bunkers in play on most of the holes (although not at the par-4 first). The best of TPC Scottsdale comes in the closing stretch, where water is also more in evidence, especially at the risk-reward island-green par-5 15th and skirting the left side of the 17th green and 18th fairway. If navigating your way round this challenging course gets too much, then there's always the chance to stop and absorb the ever-present and pleasing views onto the nearby McDowell mountains.
