Waregem Golf Club: Originally known as Waregem "Happy" Golf, this is a relatively recent and pleasant golf course occupying a quiet rural setting. You will be happy if you can build a good score on the gently undulating, more wooded front-nine, where several shortish par-4's are lined with trees that are still some way from full maturity. Water, water everywhere awaits you on the flatter, but far more tricky back-nine. Accurate “target golf” from the tee is the best way to maintain your score on the inward-nine; OB and several water ponds will account for anything significantly off-line. The greens here are often quite large, with many difficult slopes - definitely a test for your putting skills. Like many inland Belgian courses, the ground conditions here can vary - usually fine in the spring, summer and early autumn, but with a tendency to get rather wet and soggy during the winter. Waregem will provide a good examination of your overall game - and maybe even a boost to your general state of happiness !
