Praia D'El Rey Beach & Golf Resort: The first hole reveals the excellence of Praia D’El Rey’s upkeep, the second reveals the splendour of its setting beside the sea. No fewer than ten holes provide spectacular views onto the Atlantic Ocean, embracing all that you would expect from a seaside links golf course.
The layout's open, wind-exposed terrain has been skilfully developed to provide you with many memorable holes and golfing challenges. Fast, sloping greens, impressive bunkering and undulating fairways are all hallmarks of this wonderful course.
The layout includes eight holes that weave their way through a more wooded setting, which occasionally opens out onto picturesque rural countryside. Within this more wooded stretch are some of the tighter driving holes, demanding accuracy from the tee, in addition to length. If the wind is blowing at anything more than a gentle breeze, then its your A-game you'll be needing, supported by good course management.
An increasing amount of real estate around the course has undoubtedly had an impact on some of its scenic qualities. However, the seaside holes and a strong layout continue to ensure Praia D'El Rey's membership of the elite of Portuguese golf courses, keeping it up there alongside the likes of Penha Longa, Oitavos Dunes and San Lorenzo ....... and perhaps the finest of all, Monte Rei.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance. Maximum handicap: 36 (men & women); proof of handicap required.

The Masters: The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National sees LIV golfer Jon Rahm defend his title against the world’s best. Pressing hard will be world No.1 and 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler and world No.2 Rory McIlroy (April 11-14).
Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
