Above distances are for the North course. Also at Quinta do Lago is the 18-hole South course (par-72, 6488 metres); located 6 km NE of the main clubhouse is the club's Laranjal course.

15 km W of Faro
From the A22 (Faro-Portimao motorway) take exit 12 (Loule/Quarteira) and follow the N396 direction Quarteira. After o.6 km turn left at T-junction, still on the N396 direction Quarteira. After 2.3 km at traffic lights turn left onto the N125 direction Almancil. After 1.3 km turn right direction Almancil. After 1.9 km in Almancil turn right direction Quinta do Lago. After o.3 km turn left direction Quinta do Lago. After 2.5 km at "multi-colour Q" roundabout take the third exit direction Quinta do Lago (& Hotel). After 2.1 km at roundabout No.4 turn right. After 100 metres golf is on your right.
Quinta do Lago Golf (North Course): For a long-time regarded as the No.2 course at Quinta do Lago, the North course took a big step forward in 2014. The course's major revamp, designed by American architect Beau Welling and Ireland's Paul McGinley, included the rebuilding of all the greens, tees, bunkers, irrigation and drainage systems and cart paths using the latest state-of-the-art technology. The North now keenly rivals the South course for top honours at this renowned Algarve luxury estate.
The North course is basically an out and back layout cut through a natural pine forest. Many tee-shots require accuracy rather than length, especially the many dog-leg holes, the most interesting of which is the one watery hole - the 12th. The par-3's are a bit routine, and the lack of "features" or views creates a slight sameness as you go round - but overall a good course to complement its bigger brother. Some long-ish walks between holes.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.

Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
