Where2Golf says:
Holyhead Golf Club: Holyhead, or Trearddur Bay as it is sometimes known, is set back a kilometer or so back from the sea, on Anglesey's Holy Island. Don't blame designer James Braid for the rocky outcrops, thick gorse bushes, tight fairways, many elevated greens and other "dangerous" features that await - especially on the tougher front nine. Someone had to shape the course to the undulating terraine, and Braid admirably succeeded in doing this. The result is a course rich in character and full of charm, that will provide a fair but stringent examination of your golfing skills, most especially if the wind is blowing (as it often does). Sea and surrounding countryside views are ever-present; maintenance standards are generally excellent and the "no-two-holes-alike" character of the course all combine to weave their golfing spell on the first time visitor.
