Where2Golf says:
Poresia Golf Club & Resort: Four interchangeable nine-hole loops - Hibiscus, Orchid, Sakura and Bougainvillea - make-up the 36 championship holes laid out in this former palm oil plantation. The club usually combine Hibiscus and Bougainvillea at weekends; on weekdays you could find yourself playing any permutation of the four nines. The Hibiscus layout starts and finishes away from the clubhouse. That's because its original 1st and 9th holes are now incorporated into the Bougainvillea-nine (holes 35 & 36), which accounts for the Bougainvillea's very strong finish. Most of the Hibiscus course is similar in character to its original partner, the Orchid-nine - constantly undulating, challenging, with distinctive railway-sleepered bunkers giving excellent definition to many holes. The greens and green-surrounds are very well-presented, although the greens can sometimes be a little slow. The Bougainvillea layout feels more compact than the others, as well as being a little less undulating, shorter and tighter. Two equal length par-3's on the Bougainvillea utilise the same pond. At the downhill 30th the pond defends the back of the green, while the same pond defends the front of the green at the uphill 33rd hole, which passes in the opposite direction. The regularly paired Hibiscus / Bougainvillea nines will provide plenty of challenges for golfers of all levels; higher handicappers may find the Bougainvillea a little less intimidating than the other three nines.

Tree-lined & open parkland.
Undulating terrain - a few slopes to climb.

Designer:
Father/son team of Pete & Perry Dye designed all four nines at Poresia, and personally supervised construction of Orchid & Hibiscus. Sakura & Bougainvillea were built later. Particularly on Orchid & Hibiscus there is plenty of Dye's trademark railway-sleepered bunkering, although several are now being replaced by grass-lined bunkers.

|
|
Poresia is located within the Leisure Farm domain, a former palm oil plantation, where the development of high-quality housing does not intrude on and cannot be seen from the golf course. Based on its location in Malaysia and close proximity to Singapore, the name Poresia was created by combining the endings of the words SingaPORE and MalaySIA. In this Japanese owned and managed club, three of the nines are named after national flowers : Hibiscus (Malaysia), Orchid (Singapore) and Sakura (Japan).
