From the North-South Highway, just south of Ipoh, take the Simpang Pulai exit, and follow direction Gopeng / Kellie's Castle. Follow road then make a right turn direction Batu Gajah / Kellie's Castle. Follow road then make a right turn (after Kellie's Castle) direction Clearwater Sanctuary. Follow road then turn left direction Clearwater Sanctuary.
Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort: A fabulous championship layout and an idyllic backdrop of several large, lily-fringed lakes are the key ingredients that ensure Clearwater Sanctuary's ranking as one of Malaysia's best golf courses. Together with Saujana, it previously topped many Malaysian rankings, and understandably so.
In this quiet and very natural environment, large, attractive rainwater trees give the front-nine a distinctive, mature parkland character. There is usually enough space between the trees to encourage use of the big-timber from the tee, but stray too far offline and dense jungle awaits.
A dramatic change of scene arrives at the par-4 10th, where the tree-lined front-nine gives way to a more open environment and the arrival of stunning lakeside scenery. Meandering their way alongside four large and very attractive lakes, the back-nine is full of wonderfully designed holes, all flanked by water on one side.
The downhill par-3 11th is a fabulous hole, beautifully framed by the Club Lake and deep bunkering to the right of the green. It is followed by a big-hitters delight - the chance to drive the green at the dog-legging par-4 12th, only a 260-metre carry required from the back-tees!
The back-nine continues on its way with a stunning collection of lakeside holes, not too much elevation change, but plenty of watery challenges and scenery that will keep your camera busily employed.

Clearwater Sanctuary's wonderful array of large lakes, one of them over one kilometre in length, are the product of former open-cast tin-mining. Some of the original dredging equipment, used in the excavation process, is on display in front of the clubhouse.
The large rainwater trees that line the front-nine holes, are so called because their small leaves often create light leafy "showers as they fall from the trees.
On the leftside of the 2nd hole you can glimpse the "hollow" buildings that made up the film set of "Anna and the King", a recent re-make of the better known "King and I".
