Tuanku Jaafar Golf & Country Club enjoys a reputation as a good quality course to play, just off the North-South Expressway, halfway between Kuala Lumpur and Melaka. Surrounded by lush tropical forest, this undulating and challenging course contains more than its fair share of bunkers, with water also playing its part on more than half the holes. Among many challenging holes the long par-5 10th requires a dangerous carry over water to reach the safety of the fairway.

Tuanka Jaafar is located just south of Seremban, the capital of the state of Negeri Sembilan (which means nine districts). This relatively small Malaysian state is closely associated with the Minangkabau culture, following the migration of the Minangkabau people across the Straits of Malacca from Sumatra centuries ago. Their distinctive houses, with upswept roofs reminiscent of buffalo horns, can be seen throughout the state.
