Trilogy at Vistancia
Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia: Located in Phoenix's north-western outskirts, this Gary Panks course is a classic desert layout, not overly undulating, but providing many picturesque views onto the surrounding rugged hills.
The layout is predominantly defined by the excellence of its nicely contoured fairways, ever-threatening bunkering, and the combination of long, wispy grass and desert waste areas flanking most of the holes. All manner of desert flora and fauna can be seen from the course, not least the Sonoran desert's trademark saguaro cactus. There aren't too many water hazards to be negotiated, although the par-3 2nd and 17th holes require a carry over water from tee to green, and both the long par-5s on the back-nine, the 14th and 18th holes, bring water threateningly into play.
Both front and back-nine loops weaves their way through the residential development here at Vistancia, with housing flanking both sides of many holes, although never too intrusively.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.
