Heading north on the A1 Autostrada from Bologna, take the Modena Sud exit. Turn right direction Modena. After approx 5 km turn left at traffic lights, onto the SS12, direction Abetone / Maranello. After approximately 10 km turn left onto the SP16 (Via Castelnuovo Rangone). After 200 m, just after the Hotel Corte degli Estensi on the corner, turn right into Modena G&CC.
Modena Golf & Country Club: Located just a few kilometres from the factory and test track of legendary car-maker Ferrari, Modena's 18-hole championship golf course benefitted from the steady design hand of another sporting legend - Bernhard Langer. Racing around this layout, is not the key to success here.
Excellently designed, long and challenging, this partly-open and partly tree-lined course will require your full concentration and course management to return a good score.
Laid out on relatively flat, occasionally mounded terrain, seven holes are dangerously threatened by water. The par-3 6th and 11th holes both require tee-to-green carries across small lakes, while the short but technical par-5 18th needs a carefully judged hop-skip-and-jump to reach the safety of the green; an alternative is to accept Langer's scary and water-laden challenge of going for the green in two.
The long par-5 13th and par-4 16th are played furthest from the clubhouse in a pleasantly wooded, riverside setting (Torrente Tiepido), while other parts of the course are more open, with younger trees yet to fully mature. The good-width fairways generally give you sufficient space from the tee, although Langer's challenging combination of water and bunker hazards, combined with often large and undulating greens, will ensure your full repertoire of shots are thoroughly tested.
Although long range views beyond the course are limited, this modern, skilfully designed layout will allow you to enjoy your golf in a pleasant and natural parkland environment.

The ancient city of Modena, with its wonderful Piazza Grande (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), is now best known as the high-performance car capital of Italy. Ferrari, De Tomaso, Lamborghini, Pagani and Maserati are all located in this area. Less than five kilometres from Modena G&CC, in nearby Maranello, you will find the home of Ferrari, the Ferrari Formula 1 racing team, and the Ferrari Museum. The Ferrari factory has been located in Maranello since the early 1940s, when it transferred from the bombed Scuderia Ferrari Garage/ Factory in Modena.
Just over 1 km away from the golf and the Hotel Corte degli Estensi (see below) is a wonderfully atmospheric restaurant owned and managed by a former Formula 1 chef! (definitely worth a visit).
Modena G&CC hosts many top level tournaments, and was the venue for the 50th Italian Open Championship (a 1993 European Tour event) (see our Tournaments section > by venue > Modena).

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour.
