Where2Golf says:

Deer Island Country Club: Located in an area of large lakes an hours' drive to the north-west of Orlando - an excellent course that straddles the length and breadth of Deer Island - surrounded by the large expanses of Lake Dora and Lake Beauclair - laid out on relatively open, flat terrain with woodland flanking many of the front-nine holes - the best of the lakeside views and holes coming on the back-nine - a handful of properties alongside some parts of the course, but generally an open, natural feel to this "easy on the eye" layout - good width flattish fairways, attractively mounded and bunkered with smooth-lined, sharp-edged, stylish bunkers - elegantly crafted greens and green surrounds are always presented in excellent condition - in this watery, lakeside environment its no surprise that water is in play on most holes with many small lakes skirting the greens and fairways - a wonderfully quiet and peaceful environment, something akin to a wildlife sanctuary with great lake views and relatively unobtrusive housing - many glorious golf holes like the short, risk-reward, par-5 16th with swamp lining the hole's right side and a wonderful cluster of bunkers guarding the green - a stand of pine trees provides an attractive backdrop to the excellent long par-4 closing hole.
