Kooralbyn Valley
Ramada Kooralbyn Valley Resort originally opened in 1979. It quickly developed an excellent reputation as a challenging course, quietly tucked-away in a fabulously natural environment at the southern end of the Teviot mountain range (aka Flinders Peak group). After a lengthy period of closure from 2008, the long-awaited return of this iconic resort became a reality in June 2016.
The roaming layout makes full use of its wonderfully natural undulating terrain. Flatter holes are found at the layout's lower levels, but others incorporate much greater elevation change as they climb into tree and brush-lined canyons.
At the lower elevations, and especially on the back-nine, water hazards in the form of good-sized natural ponds are a significant feature ( ... providing they have not been dryed out by drought). These sparkling pools, when combined with not overly wide fairways create plenty of challenge for golfers of all abilities.
When the going gets tough on this demanding championship layout, there's a host of wildlife to keep you entertained, not least kangaroos and wallabies, possums, bandicoots and all manner of birdlife, including kookaburras.
With its natural terrain and splendid vistas, abundant wildlife and "off the beaten trail" location, this enchanting country course is set to rejoin Queensland's impressive array of "must play" golf courses.

The iconic resort and golf course at Kooralbyn re-opened in June 2016 as the Ramada Kooralbyn Valley Resort, part of the Wyndham group, one of the world's largest hotel and resort chains.
Counting Norman von Nida among its former golf professionals, Kooralbyn previously hosted many top level tournaments, including the Australian Team Championships (1980), Queensland Open (1981) and the Queen Sirikit Cup (1984).
