Robert von Hagge was set quite a challenge to make something out of this rather hilly and twisting terraine; to his credit, his design work has produced a very good golf course, bordering on being a great one. Seignosse's reputation for being tight and hilly is justified - and tight means not just drives but approach shots as well. Unless you hit your driver straight, its best to keep it in the bag. Be careful at the 2nd, 14th and 17th where water makes life even more challenging, but take advantage of the three rather short par-3’s. The greens hold the ball well, and can be pretty quick. Seignosse is certainly there to be enjoyed - a challenging course but also rewarding if good course management is applied. For the tourist within us, there are glimpses of the sea at the 9th hole, and plenty of surrounding pine forest to admire.
