Where2Golf says:

Perhaps only the Old Course St Andrews has been more photographed and written about than Pebble Beach Golf Links. With its fabulous layout, challenging qualities and spectacular views onto three separate coves (with beautiful Stillwater Cove the middle of the three), Pebble Beach is quite simply the best course in the world for many golfers. The ocean views are spectacular from start to finish, the layout and presentation of the course superb, and the not overly large greens as testing as any you have putted on. The bunkering is also fearsome, something you will quickly realise, especially if you enter the deep and cavernous cross-bunker at the par-5 2nd. The layout of these famous golf links is generally quite open, allowing those stunning sea and beach views to be enjoyed throughout. Among the treasure trove of golf holes, are some of the best known in the world. The short par-3 7th, played out to a rocky promontory and a green surrounded by bunkers, is as short, majestic and scary as they come. Ask many golfers to describe the world's best closing par-5 and the 18th at Pebble Beach comes readily to mind - anything hit too far left will find the Pacific's rocky foreshore. The par-4 8th has one of the most nerve-jangling carries to make on your approach to the green, with a deep oceanic chasm and the beach below awaiting anything short or right. Playing Pebble Beach is undoubtedly one of golf's greatest experiences, even if a small mortgage may be necessary to pay the hefty green fee.
