Although the South course hosts the major championships, many would say the North course is the pleasanter, affords nicer views and is perhaps a tad more technically demanding. Like the South, the absence of rough "liberates the mind" wonderfully, but there are still big bunkers, water hazards and occasional small ravines to think about. The terraine is slightly more undulating than on the South, but the tell-tale small palm trees and large fast greens are very much "La Manga".
