Where2Golf says:
Quintero Golf Club: Opened in 2000 as a private facility, Quintero Golf Club now offers outside visitors the chance to enjoy the unspoilt beauty of the Arizona desert, while tackling a stunning Rees Jones layout.
The golf course at Quintero will test your game on a handsomely crafted layout, which is bordered by pristine and often dramatic desert terrain. Plenty of undulations and elevation change gives great character to each hole on this highly-rated course. Playing over 7,200 yards from the Championship tees, and a more comfortable 5,043 yards from the forward tees, Quintero is a course with plenty of strategically positioned bunkers, generally good-size landing areas and tiered bentgrass greens.
Located at an elevation between 1,986 and 2,670 feet, the entire property is surrounded by Federal lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, which preserves Quintero's feeling of seclusion and privacy. In this high Sonoran desert setting, close to Lake Pleasant in the Hieroglyphic Mountains, you will enjoy the sweeping desert landscape, with its folding hills and lush collections of native cactus and trees, including saguaro, Ocotillo, Ironwood, Palo Verde, and acacia.
Stay & Play: on-site accommodation is available in Quintero's rental villas and condos (see Where2Stay section below).

Quintero golf course is located in the foothills of the Hieroglyphic Mountains, which it seems were named in an apparent confusion between Egyptian hieroglyphs (images used in writing) and local petroglyphs (images carved on rock surfaces). The course is a short drive from Lake Pleasant, a major water sports recreation area for the Phoenix metro area.

Koksijde Golf ter Hille Golf Club: on what was previously open farmland, an enjoyable and challenging links-style layout has been crafted. Perhaps the inspiration for Koksijde's new course came from a renowned Harry Colt layout that existed in the 1920s just a couple of kilometres to the west. Read more... |
The Duke Golf Club: represents the latest in a trio of private courses to arrive on the Dutch golfing scene. All prefixed by the definite article, The Dutch (2010, designer Colin Montgomerie) and The International (2012, Ian Woosnam) have now been joined by The Duke, which firmly targets a business clientele and the corporate golf market. Drentse Golfclub De Gelpenberg: as the oldest golf course in the Dutch province of Drenthe, De Gelpenberg offers a partly-wooded and partly-open heathland layout, guaranteed to test all facets of your game. It is arguably the best of the country's more northerly layouts, together with Lauswolt (50 km away to the north-west). Read more... |
