The Eastern Golf Club

4-star: generally an excellent standard golf course, well worth visiting.

Where2Golf says:

The Eastern Golf Club: After a recent move from the Melbourne suburb of Doncaster, the long-established Eastern Golf Club has now set up home in the Yarra Valley, with the Yarra River just touching the northwest corner of the property. Greg Norman was commissioned to design The Eastern's new 27-hole layout, which is accompanied by a 9-hole par-3 course, as well as top-quality country club facilities.

Possessing a distinctly open linksy character, the new championship layout has been routed to capitalise on both the internal views and also dramatic vistas beyond the course. To the north and west are the Christmas Hills, part of Australia's Great Dividing Range; to the south are the Dandenong ranges. Although essentially a private members-only club, visitors can enjoy access to the course if staying at the neighbouring Yering Gorge Cottages, or (on application) if visiting from overseas or out-of-state.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.
