Where2Golf says:

Nelson Bay (alias The Bush Course by the Sea) has three excellent nine-hole loops offering something rather special in terms of golfing in Australia. Bounded by the Tomaree National Park, the golf course has many of the characteristics of a sub-tropical forest environment. It is also home to kangaroos, wallabies and all manner of birdlife, all of which you will encounter while playing the course. The 27 holes are similar in many respects, with several elevated tees, good-paced greens and tree-lined fairways that occasionally feel a bit too tight for comfort (the par-5 22nd hole is possibly the tightest, long par-5 you'll encounter !). Maintenance is generally good, without trying to create a heavily manicured course. The 9-hole loop covering holes 10 through 18 is perhaps the most undulating and forested; the stretch from the par-5 12th to the par-4 15th is as natural a series of golf holes as you will experience in Australia - wonderful forest (bush) all around. With all this unique Australian flora and fauna on show, you'll not worry too much that the sea (less than 1 km away) remains out of sight, although within earshot.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.
