Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club

4-star: generally an excellent standard golf course, well worth visiting.

Where2Golf says:

Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club: Designed by Greg Norman and his team, the 18-hole championship golf course at Stonecutters Ridge is home to deep intimidating bunkers, challenging greens and impressive water features. This modern challenging layout will thoroughly test your all-round game,

Located within a rolling topography and framed by the surrounding bushland, the course amply reflects the characteristics of its natural surrounds. A few holes, especially the back-to-back par-3s at 16 and 17, are bounded by the natural meanderings of Eastern Creek. Although designed as part of a residential development, the course retains enough of its natural boundaries for the housing not to be too intrusive.

MOST MEMORABLE HOLE: The signature mid-length par-3 11th looks intimidating from the tee. A collection of sculpted bunkers tumble from the left-side of the elevated green, forming what may seem an impenetrable wall of sand. You'll need to carry this impressive and deep bunkering with a well-flighted shot requiring height and distance control.

Did you know?

The master plan for Stonecutters Ridge shows that eventually half the holes will be bordered by residential development, while half will remain flanked by bushland and woodland. Just beyond the east side of Stonecutters Ridge is Eastern Creek, an important watercourse in Sydney's western suburbs. To the west of the course lies the Colebee Nature Reserve.
