Where2Golf says:

Here among the Hunter Valley wineries, Greg Norman has designed a very distinctive and challenging golf course - thoroughly absorbing from start to finish. The neighbourhood is a mix of new real estate being developed not too far from the course, and fairly open "bush" or scrub - although several copses of tall eucalyptus trees are also dotted around. The course itself is what you'll need to pay most attention to (a strokesaver is advised on your first visit). It places a high demand on excellent course management and well targeted shots - this is no push-over of a resort course. On a majority of the always testing holes, water is in play, sometimes reaching across the fairway (as at the two opening holes) and needing to be carried to reach the safety of the well-paced greens. At other times water hazards come in the form of small, natural and reed-lined lakes, teeming with birdlife. Even with the new houses dotted around, there is a bush-like, open, naturalness to this course, and the back-nine contains the added attraction of some wonderful views across the Hunter Valley to distant hills and mountains beyond.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.

Did you know?

The Hunter Valley was home to some of the earliest wine production in Australia in the 1830's, but the real boom period came in the 1970's. Now there are approximately 100 wineries in the Hunter Valley, and many of them within a stone's throw of The Vintage. The Vintage golf course is managed by the Arizona-based company, Troon Golf (www.troongolf.com).
