Where2Golf says:

Subhapruek Golf Club: Pronounced "su-baa-prek", this layout is another in the Pete Dye lineage of golf courses that will bring a smile of admiration to the faces of most golfers. Although the terrain here is essentially flat, Dye has laid out a visually exciting and challenging course; a course in harmony with itself and its surroundings. The green-keeping staff ensure the quality of presentation matches the excellence of the layout. The generally good-width fairways often look a tad tighter from the tee-box, such is Dye's expert use of many and varied bunkers, fairway hugging water-hazards (there's lots of them) and a liberal array of palms and other trees. At just over 6800 yards this is no longer a course that will host top professional tours, but it presents a terrific challenge to amateurs of all levels. The setting is very natural, with only the tall white tower, golden domes and spires of the nearby ABAC University visible above the tree-lined perimeter. On the course your full attention will be needed with water in play on most holes, often flanking the fairway from tee-to-green, most menacingly on the closing threesome. The boulder-rimmed, island green par-3 16th is delightful, while the short par-4 17th, wrapped around a lake, is as tight and testing as they come. The same lake is also in play alongside the par-4 18th, which finishes next to a large decorative waterfall, which is apparently "switched on" at weekends. Just in case you can't get enough of this course, or you need to settle a tied match play, there is even a short par-3 19th thrown in for good measure.

Did you know?

Opened in 1993 and originally known as Bangna Country Club, it was in 1995 that HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn bestowed the name Subhapruek on the club, which literally means beautiful plants. Like so many clubs in and around Bangkok, the land on which the course is built was originally flat, marshy rice fields. The excellent clubhouse caters to a wide variety of tastes, with Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Western cuisines all available.
