Where2Golf says:

Golf Château de la Tournette (Anglais course): When opened in 1988, La Tournette's links-style Anglais (English) course was easy to differentiate from its more parkland Américain companion. However, progressive tree-planting has regrettably detracted from the layout's open, linksy character, gradually converting the Anglais into a tree-lined parkland layout, albeit a very good one. The fabulous long par-3 12th hole could easily have been plucked from one of the great British seaside courses, although nowadays the corridor of "dunes," through which your ball must be threaded, is morphing into a tree-lined avenue. The excellence of the golfing challenging and overall quality of Hawtree's design still incorporates many pleasant elevation changes, stylish bunkering and excellent contouring to the undulating fairways. But, for lovers of open links golf, the course's original "x-factor" is gradually receding beneath the growing tree line. Deep rough still grows on the rolling mounds that define many of the holes, while small ponds also bring water menacingly into play on six or seven occasions. The long par-3 4th, snaking par-5 13th and downhill par-3 15th all require carries over water to reach the safety of their respective greens, while the downhill par-3 6th and par-4 17th are threateningly flanked by ponds. Although the Anglais layout is clearly in transition from open links to tree-lined parkland, the course remains one of Belgium's best and most challenging layouts.

The Grand Hotel Waterloo is located within easy reach of the centre of Waterloo and just 3 km from one of Europe's most famous battlefields (well worth a visit !). The hotel's main restaurant, La Sucrerie (sugar factory), is particularly noteworthy, not least from an architectural standpoint. Many top-quality courses in the area will keep golfers fully occupied.
