Where2Golf says:

Golf Club de Louvain-la-Neuve: At the edge of the Lauzelle wood, the golf course at Louvain-la-Neuve is laid out over a relatively open and gently undulating landscape. One or two small lakes come into play, most noticeably at the short par-4 17th and par-5 18th, and there's plenty of fairway and greenside bunkering to contend with throughout your round.

With quite a few short par-4s in the mix, this is definitely a course on which you should be able to build a good score, especially after you've played it once or twice. The tree-planting of a few years ago is now well on its way to maturity, and has certainly helped toughen-up the layout, compared to yesteryear. If you're not scoring too well, there's an excellent on-site golf academy, offering the opportunity to straighten out most aspects of your game.

Did you know?

The "planned" city of Louvain-la-Neuve (in English "New Louvain") in Walloon Brabant was originally built in the 1960s, to accommodate the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL). The campus-style university is the largest French-speaking university in Belgium, with over 35,000 students studying there. It was created when language issues split Belgium's largest and oldest university (the Catholic University of Leuven) into two institutions - the Flemish language Katholieke Universiteit Leuven which remained in Leuven, and the Université Catholique de Louvain in Louvain-la-Neuve.

Tournaments:
Walker Cup: The USA scored a convincing 15.5-10.5 win over their GB&I opponents in the 47th Walker Cup at Royal Liverpool. The USA amateurs won all but two of the Sunday singles matches.
Solheim Cup:  can Europe’s top women professional golfers fair better at Gleneagles than they did in their 2017 Solheim Cup encounter with the USA. (Sept 13-15).
Who's Who:
Brian Barnes:  one of the most colourful Scottish golfers of the modern era sadly passed away. Few others can boast two matchplay wins against Jack Nicklaus … on the same day!
Steve Stricker:  three-time Ryder Cup player and 12-time PGA Tour winner, defends his PGA Tour Champions, Sanford International title at Minnehaha CC (Sept 20-22).
