Where2Golf says:

Stone Forest International Country Club is home to 54 holes of golf laid out in three championship golf courses. These tree-lined and open parkland layouts - Leaders Peak, Masters Resort and Yufeng Ridge - weave their way through breathtaking 270 million year old karst peaks. Many holes nestle down in rugged outcroppings and rock formations, with several dramatic elevation changes to enjoy along the way.

All three courses fit the impressive terrain, with subtle differences between them, but nothing that jumps out. Leaders Peak occupies the most heavily tree-lined part of the property and plays up to 7,565 yards, which is necessary at this mile-high location. Yufeng Ridge starts high above the property with views of all three golf courses and the Yunnan countryside. One of its most scenic holes is the jaw-dropping par-4 8th, played towards a huge wall of stone and vegetation. To slightly differentiate it from its sister courses, Masters Resort has grass-faced bunkers, more colorful landscaping, and greens with greater undulation. It is earmarked as the club’s “tournament course.”

All three layouts provide a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. Spectacular vistas, rock-strewn fields and dense pine forests abound, punctuated by lakes and open streams that reflect the stony peaks. A must play venue if you are in the area.

Did you know?

Yunnan Province's Stone Forest or Shílín is an impressive area of basalt rock formations, where the rocks rise up from the ground in a stalagmite manner. Considered by many a “wonder of the world,” its towering 270-million-year-old karst peaks erupted from the earth over a 135 square-mile area. Many of the formations resemble petrified trees, creating the appearance of a forest made of stone. The golf courses of Stone Forest International are played against this impressive natural backdrop.
