Where2Golf says:

La Costa Resort (Legends course): Perhaps feeling a bit tighter than its revered big brother (the Champions course), La Costa's Legends course (formerly known as the South course) provides another excellent test of golf in a resort-style setting.

The early holes on this attractive and well-maintained parkland layout take you up and over a small hill. Although the layout then assumes a flatter persona after this opening stretch, it remains equally testing and enjoyable as you journey into the back-nine. Water is quite frequently in play, particularly with the picturesque San Marcos Creek winding its way through the course en route to Batiquitos Lagoon and the Ocean. Tall eucalyptus, oak and pines are integral to the course's parkland character, lightly lining many of the fairways.

As on the Champions course, excellent bunkering, and plenty of it, surrounds the not overly large and subtly sloping greens. With pleasant, rather than dramatic views onto tree and house-clad hills, you can concentrate on hitting those straight drives and well-judged approach shots, which the many well-crafted holes demand.

Although La Costa's Champions course may win more of the accolades, don't overlook the Legends on your visit here; it too has much to offer in terms of golfing challenge and enjoyment.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.
