Where2Golf says:
Primm Valley Golf Club (Lakes course): Surrounded by Ivanpah Valley's pristine desert, and located just inside California on the border with Nevada, Primm Valley Golf Club boasts two dazzling championship courses. Although sitting side-by-side and both designed by Tom Fazio, the Lakes and Desert courses couldn't be more different. Skirted by many threatening water hazards (as one might expect), the holes on the Lakes course are pleasantly tree-lined with thousands of pine trees giving the layout a much softer feel than its more open and rugged companion. The tree-line is, however, never too dense and the layout retains a pleasant and encouraging openness with generally good-width, nicely undulating fairways. Stylish greenside and fairway bunkering lends excellent definition to the challenging mix of straight and dog-legging holes, while beautiful mountain views and desert scenery are all around - not a stick or brick of real estate in sight. The long, water-protected par-4 15th is flanked by a babbling brook, while small lakes and ponds await wayward approach shots hit to several of the large, excellent quality greens. The par-3 12th (Granite Falls) has to be the pick of the par-3's; a waterfall and a large, deep bunker guarding the right side of the green. With top-quality green-keeping complementing this always testing and wonderfully scenic layout, Primm Valley is definitely worth a visit, whether you are staying in Las Vegas or just travellin' through.
