The Valley Club of Montecito

Private course - for members and their invited guests only.
The Valley Club of Montecito Est. 1929

Where2Golf says:

The Valley Club of Montecito: This private golf club (open to members and their guests only) is home to one of California's finest golf courses. Usually described as one of Alister MacKenzie's more understated designs, there is nothing understated about the size and quantity of the bunkering that protects the excellent and subtly sloping greens. On many occasions a high-flighted approach is required to clear the bunkering and put you safely onto the fast and true putting surfaces. In a charming and peaceful environment, with pleasant inland views onto the Santa Ynes Mountains, your full repertoire of shots will be called on to score well at this deceptively testing and elegantly laid out course. Straight and accurate driving is demanded on several tee-shots, with large multi-million dollar villas line many of the holes, some of them unnervingly "in range" for anything hit too far offline.

Walton Heath Golf Club (Old course): Top golfers and golf writers have long acknowledged Walton Heath as one of the finest heathland courses in the British Isles. In fact there are two courses here, the Old and New. Read more...
The Welcombe Hotel Spa & Golf Club: provides an excellent Stay & Play opportunity, just a mile out of town from William Shakespear's birthplace in the centre of Stratford. The golf course, laid out in the grounds of a sumptuous stately mansion (now hotel), offers many undulating and stylishly crafted golf holes. Read more...
Royal Ostend Golf Club: represents Belgium’s only real "beside-the-seaside" links golf course (others like Royal Zoute are located a little way inland). Here at Ostend many holes make excellent use of an impressive area of sand dunes. From the long par-4 5th through to the par-5 14th, you play across fabulously open and gently undulating golfing terrain, with few trees, fine sea views and probably a bit of North Sea wind thrown in for good measure.

Koksijde Golf ter Hille Golf Club: on what was previously open farmland, an enjoyable and challenging links-style layout has been crafted. Perhaps the inspiration for Koksijde's new course came from a renowned Harry Colt layout that existed in the 1920s just a couple of kilometres to the west. Read more...
