Where2Golf says:

Talking Rock Golf at Quaaout Resort: On the shores of Little Shuswap Lake, the excellent Talking Rock golf course and lakeside Quaaout Lodge combine to create a wonderfully relaxing resort experience - the pride of the Little Shuswap Indian Tribe. Here you can test your golfing skills on a top-quality layout, while extending your knowledge of Native Indian food and culture.

Golfers of all abilities will delight at this pleasantly challenging and excellently maintained course. Laid out in natural woodland with no intrusion from roads or real estate, the good-width fairways weave their way through avenues of pine, traversing the gently undulating terrain. As the round progresses the elevation changes and captivating scenery build to a memorable finish.

Among a great collection of scenic golf holes, two standout as world class. After a gradual climb at the preceding three par-4s, you reach the elevated tee of the stunning par-3 15th. This one-shot hole, framed by the lake and a spectacular mountain backdrop, is played downhill to a heavily bunker-defended domed green. The other standout hole, the par-4 18th, runs back to the Lodge directly alongside the lake. From the final green you are treated to a fabulous lake and mountain view, no different than standing beside an enchanting loch in the Scottish Highlands.

Lower handicappers may feel the width of one or two fairways is too generous, while some holes could benefit from additional bunkering, especially given the relative absence of water hazards. But brutal or penalising golf is not the objective here. Unwinding in gloriously natural tribal lands fits the bill far better. The Talking Rock logo, the eyes and nose of a black bear, is an indicator of the wonderful variety of wildlife that can be seen on the course. And that may occasionally include a black bear or two.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.
