Where2Golf says:

Golf Las Américas: Located close to the centre of Playa de Las Américas, two contrasting nine-hole loops make up this excellently maintained, resort-style, parkland golf course. The front-nine contains the most undulation, taking you to the layout's highest elevation, where scenic panoramas stretch out across the Atlantic Ocean to the island of La Gomera. Inland you look onto Tenerife's rugged mountain backdrop, scarred with volcanic ridges and ravines, which eventually climbs to the top of El Teide, the island's highest peak and a dormant volcano that last erupted in 1909. Around the course perimeter many flowering shrubs and bushes screen out the neighbourhood's smartly painted apartments and villas, while inside the course a colourful array of palms, delicate pines, prickly cactus and exuberant flowers adorn the holes. Occasional ponds, streams and waterfalls, especially on the back-nine, also reinforce the garden-like qualities and golfing challenge of Las Americas. The more undulating front-nine contains the most testing and scenic holes. A wonderful threesome starts with the long par-3 5th, which demands a testing tee-to-green carry over water. The rolling long par-4 6th is one of the best holes on the course, while the equally good and tightish short par-5 6th, presents big-hitters with a possible birdie opportunity. Apart from the uphill par-4 15th and corresponding downhill par-5 16th, the flatter and more compact back-nine brings you closer to the sights and sounds of this busy holiday resort.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.

Did you know?

Playa de Las Américas, located alongside the much older town and port of Los Cristianos, started developing in the 1960's as a purpose-built holiday resort in the south of Tenerife. Now well-known for golden sand beaches (most of which are created from imported African sand), it also enjoys the reputation as the epicenter of Tenerife nightlife. Numerous bars and nightclubs are located here, most notably in areas like Veronicas strip, Starco Centre and The Patch. Las Palmas also has its quieter side for those who want to get some rest and prepare for the following day's golf ! >> The golf carts (buggies) at Las Americas are fitted with GPS.
