Where2Golf says:
True to its name, the Lakes course at Blue Bay International Golf Club combines several lakes with sandy soils and native vegetation. David Knott’s skilfully crafted layout has created an exciting new golfing venue in China’s Fujian province. Areas of open sand, native shrubs and pine trees combine with the lakes to give this 18-hole championship course something of a linksy Carolina feel.
The layout presents visually spectacular holes, where water frequently threatens, and accurate hitting is often required. There’s less water on the back-nine, which plays through a mixture of wooded forest and rolling sand dunes. The par-3 13th makes a quick detour out to the beachfront, offering views over Futou Bay and the Taiwan Strait.
Wind may well be a factor as you journey round the generous playing areas. Good-width firm fairways, stylish grass-faced bunkering and opportunities for run-up approach shots all feature in this classy modern design.
