Follow the A78 north from Irvine and Ardrossan. In Seamill, just to the south-west of West Kilbride, turn left into Fullerton Drive. Follow road to clubhouse entrance.
West Kilbride Golf Club could be described as the northern outpost of Ayrshire's extraordinary collection of seaside links courses, which embraces Turnberry to the south, and Royal Troon, Prestwick, Western Gailes and the like in its middle section.
The layout here, like many of the others, sits right alongside the Firth of Clyde shoreline, giving wonderful views out to sea and across to the beautiful Isle of Arran. Every tee gives players a different sea view, from the Kyles of Bute to the north, round to the Heads of Ayr to the south. Perched on a hill behind the course is the pleasant town of West Kilbride.
This is a relatively flat and uncomplicated links course. The sand dunes are not overly large, and the design is usually a case of "what you see is what you get", although local knowledge comes in useful on one or two of the early holes. Perhaps not as well known as some of its more renowned peers further south, West Kilbride nonetheless offers a very pleasant and enjoyable seaside links experience.

From the very beginning there was a flourishing Ladies’ section at West Kilbride, and it was one of their number who first put the Club on the map in 1913. Jean McCulloch won the Scottish Ladies’ Championship while still in her teens. It was the start of an astonishing career which would see her national champion twice more.
McCulloch's encouragement of Ladies’ golf, in particular Girls' golf, was to be a life-long commitment. The British Girls’ Championship was first played at West Kilbride in 1954 and since then the Pringle Seniors', the Scottish Girls' and Scottish Boys', and the One-Armed Golfers’ Championship have all taken place on the narrow coastal strip of turf that is The West Kilbride Golf Club.

Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
