Lindrick Golf Club

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1891

Lindrick Golf Club: Known during its first forty years as the Sheffield & District Golf Club (hence the S&D on the tee-boxes), Lindrick has enjoyed an illustrious past. Former host to both the Ryder Cup and Curtis Cup matches, it may not see the return of these prestigious events, but that should not stop any visiting golfer from sampling Lindrick's moorland charms and wonderful golfing challenges.

The constantly undulating terrain ensures that only the par-3s are played over reasonably flattish ground. Most other holes take you gently uphill and down dale, while providing several dog-legging par-4s and a few blind shots into the bargain. The sunken green at the par-5 4th hole demands one of the trickier blind approaches.

The course's unforgiving rough and at times rugged texture does not detract from enjoying this wonderful layout and its many excellent heathland-moorland views.
