Leave i-4 south-west of Orlando at exit 23 and follow US 27 direction Haines City. After 7 miles turn left and follow road to Southern Dunes golf.

Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club: Just a 40-minute drive from the centre of Orlando, off Hwy 25(27) before you get into Haines City, you'll find the very well-regarded golf course of Southern Dunes. What you'll also discover is a wonderfully challenging layout, strewn with no less than 183 bunkers.
With only a couple of dangerously threatening water hazards to worry about on your way round, Steve Smyers has thrown in a stunning number and array of sand hazards that loom large on almost every shot you play. Your approach to the slightly elevated first green will introduce you to one of numerous "bunker alleys" to be played through. As you progress into this attractively sculpted layout you'll find more space on the mound-flanked fairways than the opening hole might suggest, although the bunkering remains imposing throughout.
Many holes make their way through rows of rather uniform looking holiday villas and condos, although others enjoy a more tree-lined aspect. There are several pleasant elevation changes here at Southern Dunes, with the attractive collection of par-3s all requiring a downhill tee-shot.
Although it might be a mental stretch to conjure up the sights and sounds of British seaside golf, the links of Southern Dunes are in fact laid out on a strip of undulating sandy terrain, somewhat rare in central Florida. From time-to-time the layout certainly does evoke thoughts of playing on a duneland links, not least around the greens as you line up those bump-and-run shots that the design calls for.
