Where2Golf says:

The Legacy Golf Club: Nestling in the foothills of Phoenix's South Mountain, and a short drive from the Skyharbour International Airport, this pleasant golf course is an excellent stay-and-play venue just south of Phoenix. The Legacy's lush green fairways, forgiving rough, well-placed hazards, and manicured greens offer a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. Indigenous grasses, flowers, shrubs and trees surround the rolling terrain. Its elevation provides exceptional views of Camelback Mountain, Squaw Peak and the downtown Phoenix skyline.

Dwight B. Heard purchased 7,500 acres of land just south of Phoenix in 1901 and developed it into a nationally recognised model ranch. 100 years later it became the site of the Legacy Golf resort. In 2000 the Legacy golf course hosted the LPGA's Standard Register PING tournament, won by Charlotta Sorenstam.
