Caldy Golf Club

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1907

Caldy Golf Club: Like nearby Heswall, much of this golf course is played on gently undulating and relatively open parkland alongside the popular Wirral Way (see Did You Know section below).

Caldy serves up a real treat after you've played just two holes. Starting at the dog-legging par-4 3rd, the following eight holes are played on the west side of the walkway - only a small cliff separating you from the expansive River Dee estuary.

With or without the wind, the toughest stretch of holes on this layout embraces the par-4 4th, par-5 5th and par-4 6th, which all hug the cliffs and run closest to the estuary - hooking your ball into the Dee is not an uncommon occurence. From virtually all parts of the course there are pleasant inland rural views, while in the other direction, impressive vistas over the Dee estuary are accentuated by the hills and mountains of North Wales beyond.

With good standards of maintenance throughout, you should certainly be set for an enjoyable round here at Caldy; hopefully the weather will also be cooperating.
