From the centre of Yarrawonga take the C373 direction Mulwala. After 2 km turn left into Gulai Road (just after bridge). After o.6 km golf entrance is on your right.
Yarrawonga (Murray)
Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club (Murray course): Occupying a quiet, housing-free, natural setting, Yarrawonga Mulwala (formerly Yarrawonga & Border GC) is home to two excellent Peter Thomson designed championship golf courses, as well as a nine-hole executive course. More tree-lined and arguably a tighter test than its companion, the Murray course is generally higher rated than the also excellent Lake course.
In its natural wooded setting, where towering gum trees line the holes, your full repertoire of shot-making will be needed to score well on the Murray layout. Beyond the relatively flat, springy and sometimes tight fairways, large expanses of swampy woodland lie in wait.
At the par-5 5th hole you play right alongside the Murray River, cheered on by the lively resident population of cockatoos, rosellas and the like. Don't be too surprised if the odd kangaroo also skips past. Water plays its part on one or two other holes, although never quite as scenically or splendidly as at the 5th. Beware the many "optical" traps that Thomson has created on this flattish terrain.
On several occasions the bunkering creates the impression of approach shots being shorter than they really are - trust the indicated yardages, rather than your eyes! The greens here are not overly sculpted, but still home to many subtle breaks and borrows that will require a fine touch with the putter.

The resort facilities at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club include accommodation, a swimming pool, a bistro, gaming machines, bowls and croquet lawns.
In October 1993 the Murray River flooded most of Yarrawonga's Murray golf course to a depth of about 7 or 8 feet. Marker boards on several of the trees indicate just how high the flood level was.

Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with five wins out of her last five starts on the LPGA Tour. Winning the Chevron Championship also brought the second major championship win of her career.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda's five wins in five starts, when he placed second at the Houston Open. Either side of that, he won The Arnold Palmer, The Players, and then The Masters and The Heritage.
