On the Mornington Peninsula, 97 km S of Melbourne.
From the centre of Melbourne travel south-east on the Nepean Highway (Hwy 3). After approx 27 km, in Edithvale, turn left into Edithvale Rd. After 2.7 km turn right onto Hwy 11 and stay on it for 56 km (Mornington Peninsula Fwy > Frankston Fwy > Moorooduc Hwy > Mornington Peninsula Fwy). At end of Freeway (Rte 11) turn left into Boneo Road. After 2.3 km at roundabout turn right into Browns Road. After 2.4 km turn right into Truemans Road. After o.4 km turn left into Browns Road (again). After 2.8 km golf entrance is on your left.
Dunes, The (Melbourne)
The Dunes Golf Links: On the open, expansive, rolling, sandy terrain of the Mornington Peninsula, all the ingredients were in place to establish a wonderful links golf course. The key task, accomplished to excellent effect by Tony Cashmore, was to snake the fairways through the undulating landscape in a manner that golfers could cope with, given the wind-prone nature of this location.
Within such a dunescape, inevitably the layout throws up a few blind drives (especially on the front nine), coupled with several fairways that skinny down to just a few yards in width.
The greens, as you'll find out, are large and fast with wicked run-offs, all of which will test your golf to its limits. Creating bunkers would appear to have involved simply digging into the natural sand hills.
Although the sea is never visible, the natural landscape and general condition of the course will hold your full attention. It might even have you thinking you are back in Scotland playing one of the links courses of auld.

Excellent
One of the most intact lime kilns on the Mornington Peninsula is located just below the women's tee on the 2nd hole. The kiln, known as Sullivan's kiln, dates from 1850.

Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with five wins out of her last five starts on the LPGA Tour. Winning the Chevron Championship also brought the second major championship win of her career.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda's five wins in five starts, when he placed second at the Houston Open. Either side of that, he won The Arnold Palmer, The Players, and then The Masters and The Heritage.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour.
