From the centre of Ayr follow the A719 direction Turnberry / Heads of Ayr. After approx 1.8 miles golf entrance is on your left.
Belleisle Golf Club: Run by South Ayrshire Council and situated in the beautiful Belleisle Estate, this is a very pleasant municipal parkland alternative to all the seaside links courses hereabouts.
The gently undulating terrain is very open in places with deep rough rather than too many trees providing your main "hazard" - although the "deep" is conveniently set back, far enough to encourage big-hitters to freely use their driver for most tee-shots.
There are many attractive holes, the well-bunkered uphill 3rd and 7th holes, both shortish par-3's, are two fine examples. Generally the fairway bunkering is light, though more threatening around the greens. The overall layout benefits from Braid's skilful and easy-going touch, apart from at the par-4 16th, which takes a bit of working out the first time you play it.
There are a few distant glimpses of the sea, but most of the time it is pleasant open parkland, the sumptuous Belleisle House (a good-size chateau if truth be told) and the gentle undulations of this pleasant golf course that will command your focus.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
