Seletar Country Club

Private: A course for members and their invited guests only.

Est. 1995

Seletar Country Club: Located in the north of Singapore close to the Straits of Johor, Seletar (pronounced "sa-lee-tah") was reborn in 2020 when a new 18-hole layout emerged from an 18-month makeover. This excellently groomed course has a parkland persona with rolling acres of lush greenery laced with water features.

Golfers play against the backdrop of a dramatic waterfall at the iconic par-5 7th. The parallel running 3rd and 15th, two excellent par-4s, are affectionately known as the Twin Jewels. A cascading water feature sitting behind the par-4 18th green adds a final scenic touch to your round at Seletar.

Facing Seletar CC from the opposite side of the wide Seletar Reservoir is Orchid Country Club, which can be played by international visitors (see separate entry for Orchid CC).

Limited access: this private course is generally playable only by members and their invited guests.

Did you know?

Seletar Country Club's origins go back to a 9-hole golf course that was originally built for the British Royal Air Force in 1930. When the British Forces withdrew from Singapore in 1971, the golf course was handed over to the then National Sports Promotion Board (NSPB) who took over the running of the course. The NSPB then renamed it as Seletar Country Club and appointed a committee to run it as a members’ club.

In 1995, Seletar Country Club moved just over 1 km west to its present premises and a new 18-hole layout next to the Lower Seletar Reservoir. The original 9-hole course now operates as a public course, called Seletar Base Golf Course.

Tournaments

The Masters: The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National sees LIV golfer Jon Rahm defend his title against the world’s best. Pressing hard will be world No.1 and 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler and world No.2 Rory McIlroy (April 11-14).

Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).

Who's Who

Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.

Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
