Furnace Creek
Furnace Creek Golf Course: located in Death Valley, the hottest, driest and lowest place in the USA, Furnace Creek is the world's lowest elevation golf course. At 214 feet below sea level, this 18-hole par-70 oasis course, includes amongst its challenges slightly greater gravity and barometric pressure - the ball will not travel as far as you are used to!
Originally opened in 1931, the course underwent a major renovation in 1997 by renowned golf course architect Perry Dye. Palm and tamarisk trees frame the fairways, while majestic mountain ranges (Amargosa to the east and Panamint to the west), are visible from all areas of the course.
For golf enthusiasts, no visit to the extraordinary and scorched scenery of Death Valley is complete without a round on the world's lowest golf course.

In 1927 a 3-hole course was created here by date palm caretaker Murray Miller. 1931 saw the course expanded to 9-holes, while William F. Bell designed the extension to a full 18-hole course in 1938. In 1997 Perry Dye redesign the full course during which time a full irrigation system was installed.

Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
