From Interstate-5 approx 12 miles north of San Diego take exit 29 (Genesee Ave) and follow Genesee Ave west. After almost 1 mile bear right as Genesee Ave becomes North Torrey Pines Road. After approx o.8 miles (just after Science Park Way and immediately after Callan Road) look for green Golf Course sign on the right. Follow road round into golf.
Torrey Pines (North)
Torrey Pines (North course): Although less renowned than the South course, Torrey Pines' North possesses many similarities with its revered twin. Both are wonderfully testing and immensely scenic layouts, perched high on cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Both are laid out around several deep and spectacular ravines that cut into the rugged coastline from the ocean.
Torrey Pines North, like the South, contains many exciting and memorable holes. From the par-4 2nd to the par-4 8th, and again from the par-4 11th to the wonderfully dog-legging par-4 13th you skirt alongside deep ravines that plunge down to the seashore. The flatter closing stretch, played furthest from the sea, doesn't quite live up to the drama of what's come before, although the par-3 17th does introduce the first and only water hazard you'll face on the course.
Although not of quite the same dimensions, challenge or grandeur as the South course, the North is still one of the gems of the California coast. A layout imbued with a pleasantly undulating character and captivating oceanside environment.
Pick of the holes: A finer pair of holes than the North's 6th and 7th is hard to imagine. The 6th is a beautiful and scenic downhill par-3, matching the best on the California coast. A distinctive, flat-topped cedar tree adorns the view of the green. The par-4 7th also provides a stunning panorama across the ocean and along the coast to San Diego, especially from the back-tees.

The Torrey pine (pinus torreyana), also known as the Del Mar Pine and Soledad Pine, is much in evidence around the golf course, growing 25-50 feet tall with a broad, open-crowned appearance. The tree is distinguished by having clusters of five pine needles.
The Torrey pine is the rarest pine in the United States. The wild population is restricted to about 7,000 trees growing in a narrow strip along the California coast in and around San Diego. Although endangered in the wild, Torrey pines are widely planted as ornamental trees, especially in San Diego County where it is considered a local icon.

Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.

Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour.
