Los Angeles Country Club

Private course - for members and their invited guests only.
Los Angeles Country Club Est. 1897

Where2Golf says:

Los Angeles Country Club: Located next to star-studded Beverly Hills, this private golf club (only open to members and their invited guests) is home to LACC's legendary and very challenging North course, as well as the shorter and less renowned South course.

The illustrious Los Angeles North is perennially included in Golf Digest's listing of America's 100 greatest courses. To the north the course is flanked by winding Sunset Boulevard, to the south Wilshire Boulevard. Laid out between them is the excellently crafted North Course. The club's shorter South Course lies to the south of Wilshire Blvd.

At times feeling quite linksy, at others more parkland in character, this revered layout provides a haven of golfing tranquility. With its plentiful, rustic-edged bunkering and often rolling fairways your game will be thoroughly probed and tested. Beyond the course the eclectic scene embraces wooded hills studded with multi-million dollar homes, as well as the high-rise of Century City to the south (which was built in the former backlot of the 20th Century Fox film studios).

Did you know?

The current site of Los Angeles Country Club was located by club founders Joseph "Joe" Sartori (a prominent Los Angeles banker) and Ed Tufts. Together with Norman Macbeth and Charles Orr they laid out the original golf course. After an expansion to 36 holes, the courses were later redesigned by Englishman Herbert Fowler and George C. Thomas Jr (who also designed the nearby Bel-Air and Riviera Country Clubs). | LACC has hosted many top-level tournaments, including several Los Angeles Opens (1926, '34, '35, '36 & '40) and the 1930 US Women's Amateur (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >Los Angeles CC). It will also be a Walker Cup and US Open Championship venue.
