The Grand Club (Matanzas course): GOLF COURSE WAS CLOSED IN 2007, possibly on a permanent basis. Check for current status before planning a visit. The two other former Grand Club courses (Cypress and Pine), both located in the same area, are fully operational under new ownership. They have been renamed as Cypress Knoll G&CC and Pine Lakes GC respectively.

[Original Where2Golf description]: The Grand Club is home to the well-regarded Matanzas course, laid out in 1986 by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. This tree-lined and open parkland layout will test most facets of your game, with several attractive holes and features in the mix. Worth visiting if you are in the area.

Did you know?

The Matanzas course was formerly one of the three courses (Cypress, Pine and Matanzas) owned and operated by The Grand Club, which was a member of the Hampton Golf group. Cypress and Pine are now separately owned and operated as the Cypress Knoll G&CC and Pine Lakes Golf Club respectively. The Matanzas course remains closed pending a major renovation.

Ryder Cup: Rome plays host to the first ever Ryder Cup to be staged in Italy, with the USA defending golf’s greatest team trophy at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club (Sept 29-Oct 1).
