From the A595 in West Cumbria, turn west onto the B5344 in Gosforth (or Holmrook), direction Seascale. After 2 mls (or 3 mls from Holmrook), in front of church in Seascale, turn right into The Banks, direction Golf Club. Follow signs for 400 yards to Golf Club.

Seascale Golf Club: Although not a regular stopover for golfers visiting the north of England, Cumbria's rugged coastline boasts two excellent links golf courses. Just an hour south of the renowned course at Silloth-on-Solway, you can pit your golfing skills against another links gem at Seascale. Here you will find a scenic, excellently laid-out and challenging seaside course.
The area's notoriety may come from the Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant, but don't think that this sizable piece of industrial plant (now without its cooling towers) dominates the scene. To the west, the views over the Irish Sea are fabulous, and are enjoyed from most holes. Inland to the east, the mighty peaks of the Lake District draw you ever closer. The village of Seascale is tucked below the golf course to the south. Only when you look north do the box-shaped buildings and chimneys of Sellafield steal the view.
The undulating front-nine of this excellent course is played on a higher plateau, which is separated from the seaside back-nine by a large, sloping bank, covered with ferns and gorse. As with most classic links courses, a combination of tumbling fairways, mischievous pot bunkers, occasional water ditches and large grass covered dunes blend together in an open, largely treeless environment.
One or two blind drives are required, not least as you climb back towards the clubhouse at the par-4 17th. Among a wonderfully testing collection of par-3s, be especially careful at the 10th (Beck) and 13th (Railway), both delightful holes, but potential card-wreckers.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.

Immediately to the north of the golf club is Sellafield (formerly known as Windscale) a nuclear reprocessing plant and former electricity generating site. Sellafield was previously owned and operated by British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL). It is also the site of Calder Hall, the world's first commercial nuclear power station, now decommissioned.

Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf.
