Highlands course: front-nine designed by Joe Finger (1971); back-nine uses nine of the original 27 holes. Modifications made to both nines by Arnold Palmer & Ed Seay (1980s), and Rees Jones (2006).
Riverside course: comprises 18 holes of the original RTJ Sr 27-hole layout (1964). Later redesigned by his son Rees Jones (2003).
Above distances are for the Highlands course. Also at AAC is the 18-hole par-72 Riverside course (7428 yds from back tees), as well as a 9-hole par-3 course, which features small greens and holes from 75 to 125 yds.

From I-85 in the northeast of Atlanta, take exit 95 (direction Chattanooga) and follow I-285 West. After o.5 mile exit at Hwy 141 North and head north on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. After 4 miles merge into the left lanes as the road splits, and continue on Hwy 141 (now Peachtree Pkwy NW) direction Cumming Dahlonega. After 4.6 miles (about o.5 mile beyond the Chattahoochee River) turn right into Bobby Jones Drive.
Atlanta Athletic Club
Located in the city's wealthy northern suburbs alongside the Chattahoochee River, the historic Atlanta Athletic Club offers 36 holes of championship golf. In addition to the highly-acclaimed Highlands and Riverside courses, the club's top-quality facilities also include a par-3 course, athletic centre, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, Olympic-sized pool and luxurious clubhouse and dining facilities.
The Highlands course, substantially redesigned by Rees Jones in 2006, has played host to several USGA and PGA of America major championships. Immaculately maintained and, like its companion, easily walkable, the Highlands layout is strategically bunkered with a plethora of stylish fairway and greenside bunkering.
The relatively narrow fairways are routed through a pleasantly, but not densely tree-lined environment, while water poses an occasional but menacing threat. The wonderfully challenging par-4 18th is flanked on its leftside by a small lake, which has to be crossed to find the safety of the final green.
The 7,428 yard Riverside course was originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, then redesigned by his son Rees Jones in 2003. Three holes on the Riverside's back-nine were reversed to bring the Chattahoochee River into play and view.

Led by Burton Smith, Atlanta Athletic Club was established in 1898, as an organisation where young businessmen could pursue indoor and outdoor athletics. Originally located on Edgewood Ave in the city's downtown area, the club twice outgrew its space and relocated.
In the early 1900s, Atlanta Athletic branched out into the increasingly popular pastime of golf, building a course at East Lake in 1906. The course officially opened in 1908, and is famously known as the venue where the great Bobby Jones developed and honed his golfing skills. East Lake is now a separate club, but remains a key part of the heritage of the Atlanta Athletic Club, which moved 23 miles north to its present Johns Creek location in the late 1960s.
At its current location Atlanta Athletic Club has hosted many top-level tournaments, including several major championships (see our Tournaments sections >by Venue >Atlanta Athletic Club).

The Masters: The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National sees LIV golfer Jon Rahm defend his title against the world’s best. Pressing hard will be world No.1 and 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler and world No.2 Rory McIlroy (April 11-14).
Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
