Mission Hills Golf Club Dongguan (Norman course)

4-PLUS: Must play course - excellent standard; worthy of 4½ stars.

Est. 2004

The Norman course at Mission Hills Golf Club, Dongguan is a championship layout that ranks with some of the most challenging in China. Norman's passion for designing testing golf courses is reinforced on this 7,228-yard offering at Mission Hills. Narrow fairways surrounded by long, native grasses and dense forest vegetation contribute to the layout's deserved reputation as one of Asia's sternest tests.

The front-nine meanders through dramatic mountain ridges and hillsides, while the tighter back-nine nestles in one of the property's many lush valleys. This tree-lined parkland course provides a thorough examination of your all-round game, with many skilfully crafted and testing holes to be played.

The Mission Hills luxury golf resort at Dongguan is home to five championship golf courses (Olazabal, Annika, Rose-Poulter, Norman and Leadbetter), with two more (Faldo and Pete Dye) located just 5 km away at the Mid-Valley clubhouse. Another five Mission Hills courses (World Cup, Vijay, Els, Ozaki and Zhang) are located 15 km away in Shenzhen. The Olazabal and Norman courses are typically the highest rated of the courses at Dongguan, but all five are well crafted and pleasantly undulating championship layouts.

A must play if you are staying at Mission Hills. You will need to be a guest at the onsite accommodations if you want to play any of the Mission Hills courses in Shenzhen and Dongguan.
