Real (Royal) Club La Moraleja

Private: A course for members and their invited guests only.

Est. 1973

Real (Royal) Club La Moraleja is one of several private clubs in the Madrid area, and home to a total of 72 holes of championship golf. With a 15 km drive separating Courses 1 and 2 from the newer Courses 3 and 4, the four La Moraleja layouts are each distinctively different.

The original course, Moraleja 1, opened for play in 1975. It is the shortest of the quartet, with narrow fairways demanding accuracy from the tee ... a technical shot-makers course where out of bounds is a real threat on many holes. The longer and more spacious Moraleja 2 is designed with spectators in mind. It enjoys wider fairways and and a more expansive routing.

Moraleja No.3, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design, is a modern parkland-style layout, crafted with top professionals as well as amateurs in mind. Four large ponds threaten alongside six of the greens, while stylish bunkering of all shapes and sizes constantly makes its presence felt.

On the relatively compact, open and flat terrain of No.4, ponds are also in play on a few holes. However, its the expansive rough-edged bunkering that does most to define the holes. The parallel running par-4 17th and 18th holes, demand two final opportunities to hit long and straight from the tee.

Limited access: this is a private course generally playable only by members and their invited guests.
