Home to one of Mallorca's top layouts, Club de Golf Alcanada is impressively located on the sea's edge in the north of the island. In addition to the wonderful sea views over Alcúdia Bay, the course is surrounded by pine and olive groves, further adding to the naturalness and beauty of the layout.
Both nine-hole loops on this largely open parkland layout climb away from the sea, giving a few pronounced elevation changes along the way. On the back-nine, the par-4 17th and par-3 16th bring you down to the seashore itself. Here you'll get a closer look at the small island and its associated lighthouse, which sit just a couple of hundred metres away.
In keeping with a modern Robert Trent Jones Jr design the bunkering is attractively deployed, although perhaps not as abundantly or as intimidatingly as on some RTJ II designs. Water hazards are few and far between.
With its immensely scenic sea and mountain backdrops, Alcanada offers an excellent golfing challenge, especially for mid and high handicappers. Low handicappers will also enjoy the scenery and the chance to mark a potentially flattering score on their card ... although from the back tees the layout's length may dictate otherwise.

The club takes its name from a small island (Illa d'Alcanada) that sits a few hundred metres offshore from the golf course. The island, complete with its own lighthouse, can be seen from most of the holes (as well as featuring on the club logo).
The golf course was commissioned in the late 1990s by Hans-Peter Porsche, one of the grandsons of the Czech-German engineer Ferdinand Porsche, founder of the famous German performance car company.
Centred around the nearby historic town and port of Alcúdia, this area is one of the principal tourist destinations in northern Mallorca.

Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with five wins out of her last five starts on the LPGA Tour. Winning the Chevron Championship also brought the second major championship win of her career.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda's five wins in five starts, when he placed second at the Houston Open. Either side of that, he won The Arnold Palmer, The Players, and then The Masters and The Heritage.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
