Shanty Creek Resort is home to four 18-hole courses. At the resort centre you will find the LEGEND course (par-72, 6764 yds from back tees, designer Arnold Palmer, opened 1999) and the SUMMIT course (par-72, 6260 yds, William Diddel, 1965). 3 mi E of the main resort centre is the CEDAR RIVER course (par-72, 6989 yds, Tom Weiskopf, 1999). 4 mi E of the main resort centre is the SCHUSS MOUNTAIN course (par-72, 6922 yds, Warner Bowen & Bill Newcomb, 1972).

Shanty Creek's Legend and Summit golf courses are located alongside the main resort centre. Cedar River has its own clubhouse, located 3 miles east of the main resort centre. The Schuss Mountain clubhouse is located 4 miles east of the resort centre.

Shanty Creek Resorts (The Legend Golf Course): Located between Traverse City, Petoskey and Gaylord in Northern Michigan, Shanty Creek Resorts offer four golf courses, each one different in its own way. Here you will find Arnold Palmer's The Legend, Tom Weiskopf's Cedar River, the challenging Schuss Mountain course, and the original Summit Golf Club.
The Legend course is a well-rated and always popular layout. This tree-lined parkland course should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Plenty of golfing challenge, a well-crafted design and usually good upkeep all contribute to the appeal of this course. One to include on your play list if you are in the area.

Shanty Creek Resorts, including the Schuss Mountain and Summit Mountain ski, recreational and lodging areas, has its origins in resorts founded by Roy Deskin and Daniel Iannotti. Roy Deskin, the son of a coal miner, worked his way through Detroit’s steel factories to become a magnate in the industry. After a successful career, he retired "Up North" in 1944 and purchased a home on Torch Lake. The home developed into a private social club, then the Summit Mountain ski area was added, and the Lodge at Shanty Creek. The Lodge took its name from an old trapper's shanty home, and has since been renovated and re-named the Lakeview Hotel. The original "Deskin Golf Course" is today's Summit course. Separately, Daniel Iannotti, a Chicago stockbroker, developed a quaint, Bavarian ski hamlet known as the "Kingdom of Schuss." The first nine of the Schuss Mountain Golf Course opened in 1972. In 1985, Club Corporation of America bought and merged the Summit and Schuss resorts. Cedar River, the third village of Shanty Resorts, was added in the late 1990s.

Summit Village is home to the Lakeview Hotel, which offers fabulous views of Lake Bellaire and out-the-door access to the Legend and Summit golf courses. The Cedar River village features 72 suites and studios plus 14 condominiums, with great views of the Cedar River golf course. Located at the foot of Schuss Mountain, Schuss Village exudes European charm. The village features a variety of accommodations, including villas and condos bordering the Schuss Mountain golf course.

Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
