GlenRiddle Golf Club (Man O'War course)

Glenriddle Golf Club is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses, the well-rated and pleasantly testing Man O'War and War Admiral layouts.

Like its sibling, the Man O'War course is a tree-lined and open links-style course that should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Man O’War occupies the westerly portion of GlenRiddle, and is characterised by an open, windswept links-style golf course. The golfer faces challenges often found in the links of Britain and Ireland, including large greens, double fairways and plenty of pot menacing bunkers.

The historic racetrack used to train champion thoroughbreds is utilized as a strategic hazard on three holes. Plenty of golfing challenge, a well-crafted design and usually good upkeep all contribute to the appeal of this course. One to include on your play list if you are in the area.

Did you know?

GlenRiddle Golf Club occupies what was formerly the famous Riddle Farm, a large and prestigious horse farm owned by wealthy textile merchant, Samuel D. Riddle (1861-1951). The Thoroughbred horses bred and trained at Riddle Farm, horses like Man O' War (nicknamed "Big Red"), War Admiral (Man o' War's son), Crusader, War Relic, American Flag and Seabiscuit (Man o' War's grandson), are credited with changing the history of American horse racing. In addition to the mansion and large stable block (now the clubhouse and home to a Ruth's Chris Steak House), the farm had a racing oval for training the horses. Many artefacts from the racing days can be found throughout the buildings, and around the golf course. | GlenRiddle Golf Club is a member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System and the Ruark Golf group.

Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).

Who's Who

Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with five wins out of her last five starts on the LPGA Tour. Winning the Chevron Championship also brought the second major championship win of her career.

Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda's five wins in five starts, when he placed second at the Houston Open. Either side of that, he won The Arnold Palmer, The Players, and then The Masters and The Heritage.
